Balgove Finals 03/07/2015

It was the Balgove Finals Tournament on Wednesday 1st July, and it was a real highlight to finish the season! Players were playing based on qualifying through their performances in the previous medals, and the standard of play was extremely high, and it sure looks as though a busy season of golf coaching is paying off!


The Girls Enjoy Another Texas Scramble23/06/2015

SALJGA organised another Texas Scramble competition for girls on Sunday.  It was played over 9 holes on the Strathyrum.

Balgove Medal 418/06/2015

Balgove medal number 4 was played on Wdnesday 17th June, and it was a great afternoon of golf. 21 SALJGA golfers teed up on a blustery day, and played some really top quality golf! This was the last chance to qualify for the Balgove Finals which are played on Wednesday 1st July, and a few players grabbed this chance.

 

Balgove Medal 311/06/2015

The third Balgove Medal was played last evening, and it was a great event! 23 young golfers were in the field, and it made for some brilliant golf. In fact, on the day there were 4 birdies made from this group of golfers, very impressive! The weather for the medal was perfect with light winds, blue skies and lots of sunshine



MT Tait Salver and CH Wilson Trophy04/06/2015

The first of the SALJGA trophies were played for on Sunday 31st May with both the CH Wilson and MT Tait Salver titles up for grabs. The weather forecast looked very tough beforehand, and it didn’t disappoint! Very strong winds with outbreaks of rain made the conditions very testing, which makes the scores even more impressive.


Balgove Medal 2 is a Real Thriller25/05/2015

On Wednesday afternoon (20th May), the second medal of the season was played out on the Balgove course. We had a good field of 22 young golfers playing, and we were treated to a great afternoon of weather, and some even greater golf shots!

The Girls Survive a Very Windy Hot Chocolate Scramble19/05/2015

The SALJGA Girls’ Hot Chocolate Scramble was played on the Strathtyrum on Sunday in very windy conditions.  Seventeen girls played 9 holes in 5 different teams and all enjoyed a warming cup of hot chocolate as a reward for their play at the end of the round.

The First Balgove Medal of 2015 Yields Four Winners11/05/2015

The first in a series of Balgove Medals contested over 9 holes was played on Wednesday 06th May and provided winners in all four categories.  Twenty one young golfers aged 12 and under competed in competitions determined by their coaching category. 

SALJGA Keep a Firm Grip on the Robertson-Philp Trophy27/10/2014

SALJGA beat Scotscraig in the second leg of the annual two-legged match on Sunday to retain the Robertson-Philp trophy for the fourth year in a row.  SALJGA are replicating the success of the Europeans in the Ryder Cup competition having been beaten in this fixture only once in the past seven years.

SALJGA Take The Lead In The First Leg Against Scotscraig13/10/2014

SALJGA played Scotscraig in the first leg of our annual two-legged fixture on Sunday in glorious weather.  The New Course, which was bathed in glorious October sunshine, witnessed SALJGA taking a 3-1 advantage in their bid to regain the Robertson-Philp trophy.

SALJGA Win Annual Match Against St Leonards22/09/2014

SALJGA and St Leonards played a very competitive match on Sunday in ideal weather conditions on the Eden Course.  SALJGA managed a closely fought victory by 3 points to 1 to gain revenge after defeat to the school in last year’s fixture.
